Arunachal: Vaccination camp organized at the last Indian village towards Tibet at Tawang dist

MAGO / JETHANG- A two-day COVID-19 vaccination camp was held at Mago village and Jethang GG (grazing land), the last Indian village near the Tibet border. In order to vaccinate all the herders who had already left their villages towards the Indo-Tibetan border with their herds for the summer grazing, a camp was organized at the thermal spring of Topgye for the benefit of the herders of Chunag, Lungur and Chirgyap la , including the villagers of Mago on June 25, 2021.

While another vaccination camp was organized in Jethang GG, about a four and a half hour walk from Mago village, this camp was set up to facilitate the vaccination of grazers in Tso-Gye, Merathang and Yaya le June 26, 2021.

During these camps, a total of 177 beneficiaries aged 18 to 44 and 10 beneficiaries aged 45 and over were vaccinated against Covid-19. Random RAT tests were also carried out in both locations and no positive cases of Covid-19 infection were detected.

This vaccination camp was run by Addl. DC Jang RD Thungon and DRCHO Tawang Dr Rinchin Neema. ZPC Tawang Shri Leki Gombu and EAC Mago Thingbu Pemtan Monpa also accompanied the team.

DRCHO Dr Rinchin Neema treated 25 patients suffering from different diseases, while ZPC Tawang Leki Gombu listened with patience to the complaints of the villagers and also provided them with all possible help and assured that their grievances will be submitted to the competent authorities.

In addition to that Pempa of Solungthi received a relief of Rupees One Lakh Five Thousand only from the government of Arunachal Pradesh, since his house was washed away last year by floods and ten yaks were killed, Yeshi of Solungthi has received eighty thousand relief because his house was also damaged and lost six Yaks in the same flood.
